Festivals in Lang Son

Bac Le Temple Festival
Time: The 20th day of the ninth lunar month. 
Place: Tan Thanh Commune, Huu Lung District, Lang Son Province. 
Objects of worship: Ba Chua Thuong Ngan (goddess of mountain), co (girls), cau (boys).
Characteristics: Procession of co Bo Bac Le from Keng Temple to Bac Le Temple (co Bo goes to serve the mother Thuong Ngan), len dong (go into a trance), hau bong (séance or get into a trance and act as a medium).

Bac Nga (Tien Nga) Pagoda Festival
Time: 15th day of the first lunar month.
Place: Gia Cat Commune, Cao Loc District, Lang Son Province.
Objects of worship: Fairies who have merit of helping farmers in fieldwork.
Characteristics: Worship to Buddha, pray for good fortune, festival of enjoy the spring: young people go to the hill and sing giao duy�n with the style of sli, luon.

Ky Cung - Ta Phu Temple Festival
Time: 22nd to the 27th day of the first lunar month.
Place: Lang Son City, Lang Son Province. 
Objects of worship: Than Cong Tai, a head of district who had merit of opening Ky Lua Market to trade with Chinese from the 17th century. 
Characteristics: Palanquin procession from Ky Cung Temple to Ta Phu Temple; sli songs of the Nung, luon songs of the Tay.

Ta Va Pagoda Festival
Time: 12th day to the 15th day of the fourth lunar month.
Place: Chi Lang Commune, Trang Dinh District, Lang Son Province.
Objects of worship: The Buddha, Agriculture genie, Quan Cong and Luu Bi.
Characteristics: Praying for good crops, worshipping, human chess playing.

Tam Thanh Pagoda Festival
Time: The 15th day of the first lunar month.
Place: Lang Son City, Lang Son Province.
Objects of worship: Buddha.
Characteristics: Unicorn dance, breeding young fish to the lake and the stream, lion dance, human chess playing.
